Ed Friedman and Bob Rosenthal have been poet/organizers in Manhattan’s East Village for the last 50 years.  Several years ago, Ed and Bob started a poetry writing workshop that met at Tompkins Square public library.  The dedication of the poets to the workshop led Ed and I to ask The Bowery Poetry Club to host a series of us oldsters.  The readings last winter were well attended and recorded but most notable were the large number of young poets who came to hear the generations older than themselves.

Winter 2025: Ed and Bob will host another poetry series of New York Poets at Bowery Poetry. This is the best way to transform the poetry of our times into a clear path for us all to follow into the future. Tuesday at 7:30 PM. Bowery Poetry Club, 308 Bowery, NYC. Doors open at 6:30 PM – Suggested contribution $10
